About Photographed in Monticello, Utah. This will soon no longer be seen: Route 666 will soon be undergoing a number change in response to years of "religious complaints".

Hi, Steven!

We were recently in Utah, going north on 191 and we saw this too. Nice capture. Interesting story, too. My husband and I laughed together about this and wondered how the Feds had 'gotten away' with using this number in such a conservative state as Utah! Sounds like the ruckus has been raised!

Alice, the sign was on top of a rather tall post on the side of the road where the shoulder drops away. It would have been difficult to get a different backdrop besides sky. Clouds would have been nice, but I guess when you're traveling, you take what sky is presented at the time.

That's a pity, 666 is an easy number to remember! It would have added interest, if you had also included some of the road in the picture!
