what a smooth composition! the depth of field used really works wonders here. the colors and saturation makes this a really pleasant exposure.

Excellent use of DOF. The red spot adds a warm feeling to the picture.

Great Feedback Derek, thank you! The 180 Macro lens is a great lens on any cameara body!!

Despite what Beverly feels about the red, I find it a little too much. But I do love the placement of the one flower in focus, and the limited DoF. I wonder how that lens would work on the new Canon 10D I just ordered :)

Very well done John. Great use of DOF,and as well love the placement of the flower. The red in the background intrigues me.

Subha - I'm not an insect person... All I can tell you is if your a Canon shooter you will love the 180!

Beverly you are much to kind! I'm just a crazy sales rep who loves to take pictures and you are doing some wonderful work yourself!

Perfect placement of the single tack sharp flower, with just the right amount of flowers in the background to give you a feeling of being in the middle of a patch of flowers. IMO, the red in the extreme back adds interest. I bet the print of this is awesome! I find myself studing your images to see how I can improve my "eye" Your work is amazing! Thanks for sharing!

As noted, a perfect use of DOF to isolate the subject. I like the off-center placement of the sharp daisy. That daisy looks so upright and proud, it makes me think about having better posture, lol.

Excellent DOF on this one John, cute title too. Did you get another from a slightly higher angle? Think that might look rather special.
