Thanks Biljana,
I'm thinking of entering this one in a "nature in action" contest. Not a usual type of action photo, but I think it would qualify.

Thanks Erland,
Glad you like it. It was one of many shots. The water made it one of my favourites of the shoot.

Exactly Kes, We don't need to fill up every missing mm in our lens collection. :) When it comes right down to it, expensive equipment is "nice to have" not "must have"
If some of the great photography masters can use a single lens their whole career, why do we need thousands of dollars worth of equipment?

Thanks for the info, Andre. I'm leaning the other way, looking at the Tokina 11-16 wide angle lens. I need it like I need another hole in my head...

Hi Kes,
Thanks for the comment. The answer is yes, it is an auto-focus 1.4 ( Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-14EII) But, I know you have one of the same lenses as I do (Nikon 18-200 dx vr) Unfortunately the Teleconverter does not work with that lens.

I bought the TC at the same time as I bought my Nikon 300mm f4 AF-S prime lens. The 1.4 TC is a good match for that lens for Wildlife. The above image was taken in good light, allowing me to shoot hand held in this situation. The one regret that I do have is that quite often when shooting in deep woods, early morning or dusk, the lack of light can be a problem. Especially with the TC attached and hand held. I usually take my Monopod along at those times. Of course you have to learn to be quick seting up the monopod with most Animals and birds.

Great action stopper, Andre! Does that 1.4 converter work with autofocus?

Thanks Malules.
Swans are great posers and usually give lots of opportunities for interesting images.

It couldn't have ended with any more drama on the ice!

We played our regular Sunday night pick-up game last night too. All us old farts were pretending to be Crosby :) (pathetic, but fun)
