hi dave,
lighthouses have something magical in them on photographs. escpecialy when you combine them with a dramatic landscape. ( in this case peggy's cove and the dark clouds ) you've succeeded in this pic in several ways .
the rocks in the front with combined with the green grass. the lines in the rocks beneath the lighthouse , and for all the contrast of the red top versus the grey clouds

OH, How I love the Lighthouses,
This is a little beauty Dave, Love the detail in those rocks
The lighting looks great on my screen, just a touch of hot spoting in the the lighting at the very top of the photo. This photo has beautiful detail and color tones.

Very nice Dave! Got there myself a few years ago but on a brutally windy and wet day that didn'y lend itself to too much photography... My take-homes from the lighthouse were far less impressive than this one! Great DOF and detail, and the sky certainly adds emotion and drama to it. Congrat's!

A beautiful shot of the Peggy's Cove lighthouse Dave!
It is such a scenic area! My oldest son was there a couple of months ago on a conference. They went to the lighthouse in super dense fog and couldn't hardly see anything at the time. :)
I should show him this one so that he knows what it really looks like.

It is very very very good in all technical sense, Dave! It is really nit that easy to get such a food exposure balance under those light conditions, since the thin line between underexposure and overexposure seems to gett even thiner under such well reflecting clouds. (Believe me, I tried that so often, and still I didn't get some satisfying image.) The rocks look solid and in good textures, the grass shows detials, though a bit overexposed on some regions, and above all: the contous of the are still so well defined though its background doesn't differ that much in light intensity and hue.
It is only the composition that I may find a bit... too trivial. Don't get me wrong here, it is still a good composition but perhaps a bit more "extreme" perspective could add more to this image, especially under such heavy clouds.
