This is a revisit to a former shot called 'Bigtooth'. The reason for the revisit was two-fold. Firstly, as a friend had rightly pointed out the bucket on the digger had been cropped to tightly on the left side , missing a small portion of it and making the shot feel a little tight. I hope this version makes up for it. In case anyone points out that I now have a similar problem at the right track at the digger cab, the reason is simple. I was standing on a 70 degree slope of loose rock and rubble with my back and tripod as close as we could get to the mound, whilst at the same time sliding down the loose rubble. so after many attempts this was the best I could do, crop the bucket or the track. Secondly the light was much better this time. I would have prefered a more dramatic stormy sky... The things we do to get a shot! lol. See what you think, and thanks for viewing. Regards, Jim
This looks great James. After reading your about, I would say that most people wouldn't have noticed the little bit missing from the right side. Mainly because it doesn't diminish the effect of the big shovel up front. You have everything that matters in the composition as far as I'm concerned. Nice bold colour too. Andre
