About Gleaners used to go about and pick up all the corn/grain that was left behind after the harvest. In past/past/past times, a gleaner had certain rights which allowed them to gather grain; even on royal lands. I found this bit in my yard. I do not raise corn, nor do I traffic in it. I just found this, on a cold rainy day... waiting for a gleaner....

Wow... My "abouts" have often and ever been called: Interesting, enjoyable, clever, creative, long-winded, obtuse, simplistic and other varied and digressive things. I do believe this is the first time it was called... beautiful. Thank you.

Excellent composition and details, Jim. And I especially enjoy reading your beautifully written "about". Perhaps it was the squirrels that do the gleaning these days.

Best regards,
Brigitte
