Nice shot of the variations in the water. I have never seen a muskrat. I never realized they had such long fur. No wonder they were in demand for coats.

Nice one... oh, no, I don't mean the food hahahaha.... surely that isn't taste well for us! :-D but surely the shot is great, as wildlife and most of all... that you get a subject, something that the animal does here and that adds a lot on the photo, excellent of course!

I like the patterns and colours in the water in the upper half of the image and the ripples in the lower. I have to agree with Nick regarding the soft focus or motion blur on the muskrat. That being said, we have lots of muskrats around here but I have never been able to get this close for a shot.

The water ripples in the foreground are verywell captured, Dave, and the transition to softer focus toward the background makes the water look very interesting under the nice toning/lighting. The muskrat also conveys much of that "fresh" look of being in the water. I think it could have a better sharpness - I assume a bit of motion blur. The composition is also a bit too "quick" which I think goes back to the fact that there was no time to compose better since the muskrat was on the move.
