About Another one of that horrible scene. It is obvious to me what churches are made for. For conveying the feeling that something *big* is looking at you. In an atmosphere of fear in front of the supernatural. So it had to be captured this way, and I only hope that it got the look. Any comments would be very welcome.

Well, if we must have churches and temples anyway... we should go to the mountains! ;-)

Cheers!

Entiendo tu punto de vista respeto de la religión, y se me aclara tu intención al mostrar estas arquitecturas religiosas.

Un abrazo!

Yes, it had to be that way, Gustavo! I don't want to present "nice architecture". Because it is not "nice" at all. As Dave already said, it is a fortress of fear! It is religion!

Cheers!

Interesantísima arquitectura, solo te observo que el cielo es tal vez demasiado luminoso y te encandila un poco.

Un abrazo!

A fortress! Thank you so much for that, Dave! It is the word I was looking for! It is a fortress, and a frotress is for keeping the people out and away! It's a demonstration of power, which is likely to be a motivation for much of the architecture and arts involved in building churches. Much like saying: Look here, I am mighty!

And though I am an atheist, and though I still do admire the work of those people that created all this... you know, the small wooden church somewhere between the mountains seems to be more "church" to me. It is like comparing Disneyland with Rory Gallagher.

Cheers!

Nick

It's hard to tell what the motivation was for some of the more extreme artwork on some of these churches, Nick, but you've caught the details and fortress like appearance very well.
Dave.
