Hey Robbie,
Thank you so much for the tip, so much to learn so little time! I normally get out to relax and shoot a bit on my lunch hour which is difficult since it is when the sun is at its strongest so the ev tip is fantastic. Thank you so much. I actually got a book on PS yesterday and have been playing with the program a bit more so my "fear" is slowly going away.
Thank you for your comment, I truly appreciate it.
Julie.

Beautiful tones Julie, very good composition but the clouds are blown out a little. You can control the 'whites' by using -ev compensation, start with -.3 ev and up then view and critique the different settings at 100%.The stronger the intensity of the sun the more compensation you will need.
Stop been afraid of PS!!
Take care
Robbie

I like it Anson. I do like the sky in the pictures as well but agree with you that the house is a bit "disturbing" to the eye. I think I like the cropped version better. Thank you so much. Thought about you yesterday as I went to the NYBG to shoot the orchids...pretty hard since it was an overcast day but I got some nice ones, I will post here later.
Hope you are well.
Hugs,
Julie.

What do you think, Julie.

Great use of repition with the multiple boats of comparable size and shape all lined up with reinforcing repitions in the reflections in the water, Julie. Very nice tonal range and balance. Only suggestion I have is to eliminate the somewhat distracting form of the light colored tall structures in the background with the many dark windows amidst a lightly toned form. This is a boat picture, as I see it, and might benefit being cropped from the top to make it a panorama of just boats, eliminating the expanse of sky and the skyline altogether. Something to consider. Anson

Thank you John. The class I am taking it is in black and white so I have been shooting a lot that way and it has been helping a great deal with contrast. Thank you again for your kind comment my dear friend.

Excellent shot, it's very importante for me when we have to do with a greyscale mode photo to have as good as it can be quality and contrast, so even without the colors, the elements must be looks very clear, and so here, the result is PERFECT! I love how the water looks like! (about quality I mean)
be well Julie!

Thank you again Srna. I am going to try to overcome my "fear" of using photoshop and will figure out how to straighten the horizon since you and Al said I need to do that. Will post the image again once I figure that out :)
xoxo.
Julie.

Thanks Al. Believe it or not, I am "scared" of using PS. I should take a class on it so I don't get frustated with it as I normally do.

Nice peaceful image. My only suggestion to you would be to straighten the horizon.
