Hey Anson, the pot where the flower was in was located in a corner so I didn't have too many options as far as angles. I wish RMSP had online classes, it would be hard for me to commute from NY to Montana to attend classes there ;)

Great Bird of Paradise blossom, Julie, with such fully developed petals (?). Garden shots like this always restrict our angles of shooting, so you probably didn't have much freedom here. But one thing my teachers at RMSP got through to me early on is that in florals, or almost any type of photography, it is what you DON'T SEE in the image that makes it work, ie in the background.
