Hi Debra,
The wider version is beautiful! I think the darkness helped to show off the water magical color, it is a gave of shadow and light :-)
You can still lighten the foreground in PS , I tried to fix it a bit with brightness and contrast (attached)

Thank you for your comments and encouragement for the wider view. Because of my attachment to those peaks in the back(which took me 6 hours to hike to) I did not see the 'big picture'. Debbie

very good moment to capture such a landscape,the soft low light makes all the different,the second one you add (full version)is even better at least to my taste,as it including the whole lakes and the dark foreground is excellent as an opposition to the lighted mountains.
