Thanks a lot for pointing that out, Andre! I didn't really notice that as I was rather absorbed in the long dock! Well, yes it fits the direction of depth well this way. I didn't use this as a possibility for enhancing depth very often but I guess that I should try it more.

Thanks a lot for your nice and detailed comment, Sandip! I enjoyed reading your lines!

Indeed it is not an original shot but rather one of me very first steps in wide angle scene photography that I like myself because of the presence of all the blue-ish tones.

Those wires on the posts are ther for preventing the birds to land on them. You see the addiction to keeping everything clean in this land can drive somebody mad. ;-)

All the best and thanks again,

Nick

Hi Nick,
This one works very well enhancing the perspective. Not only because of the long dock, but because of the many layers of water, mountain and cloud behind the dock.
Well done.

Lovely shot Nick,

a strong composition (although i won't say it is very original in terms of formations) .. along with the light/color distribution (golden/brown and blue).. tones .. depth perspective ... makes it a special one ... i also love the way you included so many elements within the frame in a very harmonious manner .. like the bird in the left ... a pebble in front or hint of a stone in the right ... attracts attention ... bg tonality and depth is also superb ... one question though .. what are these wire like things on the top of the posts ?? Just curious ...

Best Regards,
-sandip

I like your perspective here, Nick, as well as the interesting subject matter and lighting.

Amazing timing Nick... just how you managed to catch the golden light on just one side gives this picture a very Bunuel-ish feel :)

Una excelente composición, de libro!. La simetría vertical sugiere el encuadre centrado, y el horizonte perfectamente situado según la regla de los tercios, muy buena la exposición también.

Un abrazo!
