About I have the impression that choosing to have the other plant in the background exactly behind the front one was not a good idea. Any comments / suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks once again for the in depth going cmment, Visar!

I tell you, am I happy for that yellow too! hey, I didn't overexpose that! I make progress! ;-)

I am a bit concerned about giving the flower the best possible way to appear on the image as it "interacts" with the other plant behind it. This of course doesn't have to be a mistake - it *could* be one. And so it is worth to search for the typical "what if". One (hypothetical) possibility was to have only the flower as recognizable object. It could "simplify" the image and so fit better the appearance that you described so well. (Possible, not sure.)

Cheers!

you have really gotten airborne while i was away Nick, this image is extraordinary, it passes onto a converse of some mood that is not of this world, definitely!
damn, i could not say why i like it so much!! maybe, because of the blur around it that smoothly, in a subtle way wraps everything around, those few other elements in there, and then the yellow flower and its corpus burst out crisply, so sharp and invite me for contemplation-- and you know i love yellow!! ;)

oh, and just to point out, that i do not like any of these other versions discussed below. i think, making this composition otherwise would have given more importance to details that i actually only find complementary-

hat off,
v.

But for what are you sorry, Yazeed? I don't think you exceeded anything at all. :-/

Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Harry! So I got a glimpse of what you see here, which is always a good thing.

Thanks a lot Gustavo, for the nice comment and generous rating!

It has its potential problems, though. I still don't know if the position of the background plant is the best possible here.

Cheers!

Your version keeps a much more "strict" design, Yazeeed. It put the front flower to an exclusive place.

Thanks a lot for this!

The shadow is large and threatening, thats mood, maybe my mood inside.

Well, Harry, this is the most interesting thing for me to see here. Half the people think pretty much what you think, and the other half exactly the opposite. Really interesting, debates are always interesting. Of course not only for "finding the truth" or something.

So, considering the fact that you find it moody as it is, may I ask you what do you think creates that mood? Any specific detail or just "the whole" of it?

Cheers! And thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot Aziz! I agree for the most part of it too, except for the complete absence of the background plant. I think it should be there but somewhere else than right behind the front one.

Interesting to see the different views here. There are some that say that it is good as it is, then some that want the background plant away, and me sitting between the two worlds. Nice to see such a deviation of opinions.

Cheers!

Here I am between yours and Yazeed's consideration about the background plant, Dave. I think it should remain in the background but not right behind the foreground plant.

Still I am glad that you like it this way. Thanks a lot for the nice comment.

Yes, exactly, Yazeed!

A pity that I didn't realize that when I was shooting this one. Only for getting an idea of what it could have been, I attach a very imperfectly altered image. Such a pity!

Cheers and thanks a lot!

Copied the plant in the background to the left and cloned the original plant off

Thanks a lot Tabitha!

A bit problematic (to me) that the other plant is behind the first one.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Harry!

I have my doubts about the second plant behind the first, though. Doesn't it disturb?

I like the composition here, Nick! I don't think the other plant is a problem, just makes the image more interesting.
