About I know not everyone will think this is Cool, but you have to admit it is pretty amazing! Took this using my fantastic Tamron 90mm lens, at the end of the summer this year we seemed to have a plague of these 'daddy long legs'

Hi Ilker - many thanks for your comments, I did use a flash (the SB800 - awesome piece of kit) As for the crop, I guess I was more interested in the central part of the fly rather than the legs (after all they are very thin...) As for the shadows, that comes down to personal preference, I didn't want the midtones of the shadows to detract from the delicate colours around the middle of this insect. I have to say though - It is REALLY ugly! Many thanks again - Chris

congratulations. this is really an amazing shot. its always hard to find insects on a white surface and the light is near to optimum. i wonder if you set a light or was this the natural light in the room. the details are very good and this shows that you own a good body and lens. although i liked it very much i have two critics. first, would it be better if you didnt cut the edge of its legs. it seems like ou did it on purpose. why did you choose to do it. the second is the shadow could be darker and obvious. if you didnt set the light this is still superb.

ilker.
