The composition and level of detail are very good in this photo. Although the DOF is properly shallow, one can still see people walking in the background, and this adds contrast between the smoker's calm, laid-back pose, and the rush that the other people are in. I also like the tone you have chosen for the pic. The light could be a bit softer on the man's head.
