Yes, greeneye, you sure sound fortunate especially because white probably suits you well*LOL* Such a romantic moment the birds must have thought - he deserves to be dressed in white and not black!

Ok, now, i should save and not expose the rest of pics of animals as they seem to triger stories of my life... but i will tell you this one too!! Last year, as i was enjoying the morning dew of spring in an outdoor ambiance of a cafe in Prishtina, amongst the trees, these crowbirds we are presenting so intelligent and in beautiful frames, dung over me five time within ten- fifteen minutes. and beside i was with a girl whom i had met only for the second time!! but they say that when birst urinate over your head youa are lucky!! judging from that i should be the luckiest man in the planet! LOL. regards, V.

*LOL* Aha it seemed to know all your dirty secrets! One time in Greenland I was out by myself hiking in the mountains. When taking a break a raven approached me all of a sudden and it came and sat next to me, so I could almost touch it. As I climbed down, it followed me all the way and "talked" in such a cute way, not the more harsh voice they sometimes use. When I was down I walked to the end of the icecore where it melts in order to get something to drink. I thought the raven had finally left me, but suddenly it came right above me talking/chatting again and sat down right next to me washing itself like I also did:-) It was such a special experience. I talked to it a lot and it responded with its babble. There was really some sort of communication established:-)

eh, well it is black! :) everything black is considered, mmm, well black- not like a angel that is supposed to be white!! strangely enough we have been brought up into those values. Not happy at all with it, but i still use them- maybe for the sake of communication rather than believing them the way they are represented! regards, V.

Ah, well, you're right. they are not Ravens but Crowbirds, which are smaller than ravens but of same family. Though we have ravens too, but in smaller numbers. I had a very special story with a raven!!! that crazy raven kept following me from the entry door of the place i work, for another five hundred meters, and was flying low almost touching my head as if asking for some revange of some crime i never commited! who knows what was in the mind of that intelligent bird!? Great image and it was so well done but the poor crow has a bad rap. The little fishing village were I was born the story was that every time you hear a crow a drown fisherman would be rolling into the beach. As a child I remember trowing rocks at the bird so it would stop its annoying screech. Nobody ever died after the fact but ...just in case!!!

Oh really? It sounds like a crowbird but not ravens. We call them "råger" and "alikker" in Denmark, and I know how they dance in the sky ín formations. A very special sight:-) They also sleep around the top of the hospitalbuilding where mt father died. In that way their dance and sounds have come to symbolize his death for me. No matter what all crowbirds are wonderful creatures and so overlooked just because they don´t look colorful like a parrot. Warm wishes Blueeeee

In the place where i come from, i think there no other place that nests more raven; Prishtina- everyday, throughout the year, after six o'clock mainly, they conquer the sky and all you see and hear is crows! It is a pitty that in any guide to the city, they are not mentioned, cause they really perform shows every night, (danging is also part of the show but, hey you cannot get a free ticket anywhere :P) thanks for the comment blueee, Greeneee warm regards,

Ah, Edgar Allen Poe´s poem about the raven knocking at the door at night - a true classic, my Greeneyed UF-neighbour:-) The photo is so strong and goes so well with the poem. There´s something very personal about its attitude. A very intelligent bird by the way. I´ve had wonderful encounters with ravens in Greenland. Pax vobiscum Annemette
