Thanks, Dave... does that include the "resident" next door who has just ruined this beautiful sunny Saturday by burning off his garbage? (He is not a local... never will be... he is a very annoying long term resident...), no better than the terrorist tourists who thrash down the road on their two stroke loud mosquito buzzing motor bikes... endangering our children and the other locals (and residents).

Not to mention those heroes in their 4x4's (the city and urban cowboys and gals who have never had their pristine machines in 4 wheel drive mode)... They always choose my driveway to rip up and make huge holes in which I tire of re-filling... as they panic to quickly turn around... "OMG!!!there is GRAVEL and DIRT down this road and it looks scary! Oh NO!!! It is winding off at rather a steep angle into the darned bush!!! Quick... panic now and turn around and get the heck outta here.... Oooh... here's a likely spot to turn around... Dang, the gravel better not spit up and hit my waxed duco and leave pit marks! And the bush better not scratch it either!!!"

Thank you Mr neighbour "resident" for making my house, which I had opened the doors on for some early spring air, smell like your garbage you like to ruin a beautiful day with burning off... Perhaps the frgrance appeals to you. It is not in the least echanting to me, and neither is the smoke obscuring the opening buds and already wide open divine flowers... I like to have a walk around my garden on early soon to be spring days. Not likely today, Mr resident stool sample!!! Thanks a lot!!!

So Dave... if I can catch 'em... (preferably in my teeth...) may I really and truly, shall we say "dispose" of them??? I believe you gave me permission, and I even think I can feel "god"'s warm encouragement also!

Mwah! Let me at 'em!!!

Hugs~
Ani x x x:)

Ani, just for your information, yes, you have my permission to throw whoever you want off the mountain. Just not me.

Oh Dave... I'm sure you'll get over it soon.... besides, I'm have a slight feeling this isn't the first time someone or something has twisted your arm to stay up for an adventure into the night! ;-) lol

Of course I know you "better" :)

But you didn't answer my question.... am I "allowed" to push the terrorists off my mountain??? LOL!

Hugs, babe...
Ani :)

LOL, Ani... I KNEW that bringing GOD into the mix would get you going... which is why I capped it all... I think you know me better than to think I would REALLY say something like that in seriousness...

Thank you for your sympathy Dave.... I am really very sad...truly... :-(

My lens to suit my Minolta (that broke) did not have fungus. It was rather disheartening to have one of my favourite lens's give up the ghost, only to find that the one which fits the Nikon (which I rarely use... prefererance has and always will be my Minoltas), has fungus, and that my Nikon hates me and refused to shoot at any other shutter speed than that which it chose for itself... No, I did not have it set on Auto! LOL! (Also I did not use FLASH.... ROFLOL!)

I am not brave, but stupid to use film. I can't afford it and I can't afford to get the digital camera I would consider reasonable (not that I believe digital compares well enough to film, but I don't want anyone to challenge me or send me hate mail because I expressed my opinion and preference...)

Anyway, I think I shall just give up photography entirely. I'm half blind anyway. Time to call it a day old girl!

BTW: Was it GOD that created your digital camera? Really??? WOW!!! :)

Is GOD also responsible for the cell phone "cameras"? And will God punish me (though I think I have paid my penance already...) for pushing the cell phone loud mouthed boozing on terrorists off my mountain top??? I swear! (You bet I do!!!! )

With a Grrrr and a Hug and kisses of course,
Ani x x x

This is a really superb effort. I once tried getting just one decent shot of the moon with a much longer lens than yours and they all turned out really poor, you've achieved a whole series of them within minutes and they're composed just right along the diagonal. This image takes your nightime shots into a new dimension.
Regards, Gary

Thanks, Gary. This is just a very quick PS on the various phases that I shot over an hour-long period... Believe me, I couldn't do this in-camera... Not with a 30D anyway since it doesn't allow multiple exposures on a single frame like the film cameras did.

Best wishes,
Dave

Poor Ani, if it weren't for good luck, you'd have no luck at all. Wait. I mean bad luck.

LOL, I KNOW what you mean about the terrorists with flashes trying to shoot an entire city, or mountain range or whatever else that they think they can catch with a flash... I laugh every time... You've given me a wonderful idea about a shot I took, I'll have to post it now. I'll let you know.

You are SO brave still shooting film... I know I couldn't afford it. Thank GOD for digital.

Kisses, dear,
Dave

Nice one, Dave. What time interval between shots did you use? Or was this many exposures pasted together on PS? Cheers from a foggy and cloudy Greenland where the skies didn't clear to reveal such a fantastic show!... Gary

Excellent image...wow...that bloody moon, WOW...what a color, and great image as I think that is like a scoptophotography...even it isn't...hehehe...because there is not so small aperture and so strong flash to take a picture like that in one shot......kidding of course, your presentation of the faces is EXCELLENT here!

Wow, this is totally stunning... nice moon shots AND... nice display of the various stages of the eclipse! I'm so glad the skies cleared for you, Dave.... would have been a pity if you hadn't gotten these incredible shots!! I was out there too, and my shots pale in comparrison. 7/7

I recently got home from viewing the SAME Moon!!!
Your pic/s are really great, Dave!

I had several "mishaps" whilst attempting to photograph...
Firstly, my lens broke at the crucial moment.
OK... No probs. (I lie... I was annoyed)
I came back home, changed cameras and lens and then the clouds rolled in... :(
After freezing my whatevers off for quite a long time and fighting for a decent spot (on MY mountain) with the terrorists... ooops... I mean tourists... who were usually a FLASH to photograph this ........... insert whatever you wish along dotted lines... there was a slight clearing.... My other camera malfunctioned, giving me an 18 second exposure (or thereabouts) no matter what I set it on! To top it all off? I found that my lens in these darned damp mountains has fungus!!!
However, I came home, and by that time the Moon was easily visible from my balcony. I grabbed more shots. I have no idea what on earth I might or might not have as I used FILM.... A waste of money methinks, a sore back, and other assorted "stuff"...
In summing up, Dear Dave, you shot what I was looking at and wishing to capture... THANK YOU (although it wasn't for me)... I still THANK YOU!
Mwah!
Hugs~
Ani :) (Can't "win" 'em all...)

What? You guys had one too? Are we even talking the same moon? You sure? huh.

Thanks, Tabitha!!

The (rare) fog cleared out in the nick of time... but now it's back and I can't see the moon at all now.

Best wishes,
Dave
