Hi Dave,
Nice perspective with the big sky & the not-blown-out clouds looming overhead. Snakes, huh? There's only one good snake....

No Mr. Captain -- Don't ever kill them ! Please- They don't seek us out to kill us, or harm us ---just to protect themselves.....
My dad was always scared of them...& as a child we camped all the time evrywhere in Ca. where there are many Rattle Snakes....sooo if he hadn't been so spooked by them I doubt I would be as spooked...I just like to walk away or around or not see them preferably ......
When I lived in Big Pine Key in Fl. there was a monster snake that took up the entire road in length, and was probably a foot in diameter I was on my bicycle --- I took the long way home that day & it was about 100 degree's -ha!!!

I still can't bring myself to kill one, though. I ran over some type of snake last night on the highway and felt sooooo bad. I only hope it was a rattler and not a bull snake.

Ummm, yes, they are this year. In June, we had three encounters in four days with rattlers while on our daily walks. Both me and Dee came within inches of being bit. Of course, Dee had to go see what that "cool noise" coming from the bush was. Maybe it's natural instinct or maybe it was the fear I'd projected to him but he now kinda stays on the dirt road instead of traipsing through the desert.

But that didn't help me. I was on the road and the rattler was hiding under a weed coiled and ready to strike. Luckily, I saw him before I took that next step or I'd have been within an inch of him.

We've just started walking that course again this week and haven't had any encounters. Yet.

That's pretty darn good without a translation program, Biljana. But according to my translation software, you said:

"Piss off you ugly, ugly man. You look just like your dog"

I'll take that as a compliment, thanks.

:)

and you'd share your bed if I could arrange this, Michele? It would probably be with a rattler, though.

Thanks,
Dave

Sorry Dave! I wasn't clear :) I mend a slight saturation of the sky and clouds it will have better balance in the overall presentation; I think looks little wash out with out it!!!
Cheers,
Harry

Thanks, Gary. Yes, I guess stonework age is relative... Though I think this is probably a more modern building compared to others in the area, considering the wooden door and window frames.

Oh Luis, how silly of me. Now I recognize the name and remember that I have four of your coffee table books sitting in my living room as we speak. This will teach me not to leave such stupid comments before I fully wake up.

So happy birthday, Amigo. I am very honored that someone as famed as you would even so much as comment on my photos, much less praise them. :)

Have a great day,
Dave

The saturated colours really bring out the desertness and dryness and the detail in the stonework is amazing. The stonework doesn't look that old to me, but maybe I'm coming from a European perspective.

Ruinnes is always beautiful, photos always great and here you have very good clarity on the wall's details, lighted well and exposed well that shot gives the idea to the watcher that the building is...different from the background, looks like 3D...trying to be into my ...room from my monitor and that is an excellent element for me taste, great shot Dave.
Best regards!

Gracias mucho, Alicia. Deseo que habría podido conseguir algunos otros ángulos de esto también pero estuviera en característica cercada, privada. La puerta faltaba pero no deseé entrar. Lo más mejor posible a ti, Dave
