About Cheeeeeeese!
One more sample from that studio session.
Like the others, handheld, light from a large hazy with a single torch and reflected with a silver fabric on the floor. A simple yet effective set.
Scanned from film - and a pain to clean since ICE doesn't work with silver based B&W film...
Film is my favorite but late Kodak Panatomic-X 32 ISO. I still have some frozen.

Hi George,

thanks for the comment. I still prefer things the "traditional" way. All my equipment is manual (exception being an F3 and two AF lenses I use on my manual F2s). Those were made to last, samples of mechanical engineering perfection we won't see anymore. Unfortunately, this is hardly appreciated today. I really don't care.

This film was amazing, producing amazing tones with high detail. But Kodak thought T-Max 100 was superior and killed it. Damn Kodak. For this and the death of many other films like the Ektar 25. they sometimes really don't seem to know what they're doing. Then, change the name of everything like if things'd get better because of it.

Today I only use Fuji - Provia, mainly. Great contrast, colors, detail, low grain even on 400. And I still have some Panatomic-X on my freezer, for special times.

Nice to meet you, George.

My best,

José Azevedo

Olá, Lucas.

Desculpe a demora. Obrigado pelo comentário. Infelizmente não tenho uma foto dela no seu ângulo preferido, hehehe... Mas o sorriso está sincero.

Abraços,

Hi Ahmed,

as you know I also prefer film to digital for exactly these same reasons. Thanks for the comment.

A great photograph that well exposed and wonderfully composed. You used one of best cameras ever made with the best B&W film ever made. I thought I was the only one left with the stuff in a freezer. Well done on both counts!
