What a great scene you have captured, the clouds look like water crashing onto rocks. Alison

Been having computer challenges and here it is a month after your comment, and I can't remember if I replied...so thank you for your comments.
I agree with you Robert, loved our visit to Maui, and in 1968 enjoyed my stay on O'ahu - just don't believe that I would be happy living on such a small island. We don't travel all that much here on the mainland, but at least we know that we can without having to spend so much time in an airplane flying across an ocean - not to mention the amount of time you have to spend at the airport both coming in and going out. Thanks so much for your very helpful comments. I should have been more diligent in learning to use the various features of my camera and gaining a better understanding of what does what in photography and to what effect. Two of our sons (Rob and Sam III- both UF members) know their cameras in-side out and take super photos. Rob was vacationing with us on Maui and has uploaded some really super shots. I need to check my equipment as I may already have at least one ND filter. You certainly use yours to great effect. Jan

Wonderful shot. This is most defiantly a fabulous area to shoot photos. I have to put this on my list to explore. Again I think this is another shot where a ND filter would improve the image for the same reasons i mentioned before. You also might set your camera to auto bracketing of one stop, that way you will more likely get a shot that is not blown out in the clouds. Then you can adjust the darker areas, like in the mid ground with photoshop, there by getting a fully balanced shot in the end.

I do love Maui. I know the wife wants to live there. I just need somewhere to go once in awhile and I hate to be stuck on an island. I guess there is several islands still a long way from the mainland. Excellent image and capture.
