Congratulations for your birthday and for your camera. I have a very similar one, manufaturated in 1954, that's my second love!!! If you go to my portfolio, you will find 95% film photographies, and 80% in B&W. We have a very similar style and passions in photography! Take care, Leo

They are indeed a very good camera, having used one for many years.Should you need any major repair work, Frank & Heidecke will give excellent service. My Rollei 2.8F had shutter sticking problems, so I sent to Germany from New Zealand (quite expensive) but was very happy on it's return, which only took a few weeks. The square format is the only nit I had with the camera being as the greater majority of my shots were printed on the rectangle.I now use the 6x7 format with the Mamiya RZ which is much heavier than the Rollei and not so easy to use hand held.Good luck and happy shooting.

That camera is a work of art in itself... has there ever been a camera that helped produce more wonderful photographs down the years than the Rolleiflex? Maybe there has, but I love this one perhaps the most of all.
