Hi Andre,
and thanks a bunch for the in depth going comment and your detailed explanation of how you see it. It gave me much to think about since I was only interested for some special night atmosphere when a bit more peace retuns in the city in the middle of the night - perhaps "the city still embedded in the real world" was what I wanted to say.
But your interpratation is perhaps not far away at all from my intention. The same village, some hundreds of years ago, would carry the same signs of night peace as you describe, and as it does today, when human activity goes down.
We still live in real world, and it doesn't have any electric lights, signs or billboards.
Somehow it reminds me of Grishuna - where the nights are still nights. Got to go there again some day.

Hi Nick,
On the one hand, my first impression is that there may be too much black in the image. But when I stare longer, I realize that all the dark helps to create a mood and look that could have been seven or eight hundred years ago. You could imagine a villager looking out from this area and that would be his view. No wires, no electric lights, no signs or billboards. Only the effect of the moonlight on the water.
So, my first impression is not important anymore. :)
