About A re-shoot taken April 21/07.
This is an image taken at one of my favourite spots.
A farmer's vehicle graveyard. He has several wonderful old vehicles stashed on a private wooded lot. Most of the vehicles, like this one, have been here for over 35 years. This link will take you to one of my original shots from around 1970.
The title of this one is "Harvests and Hayrides Remembered
(one of my first attempts at "serious" photography).

The inside and outside of this truck remain almost unchanged in the last 35 years.

When it is about photography or other artistic work, I do use analogy quite often, Andre, since the "total determinism" is missing considering the message of the photo. so,I guess it is much of a brainstorming that takes place.

Best wishes,

Nick

Hi Nick,
I know how much you like to write analogy to explain yourself. So, I am not surprised at all when you talk about the parallels to the life of a human being. It is one of the great things about photography when we can personify an inanimate object like that.
Thanks very much for seeing the image that way.

The tonality and the details are wonderful, Andre, and such is also the composition. It takes the spectator by hand and says again the same old story that nonetheless never strops being captivating. One seems to connect each trace on the vehicle to the events that might have happened during its actove part of life. Some parallels to the life of any human being, to all of us, are seen so easily here!

Best wishes,

Nick

Thanks Ray,
It may still be there in another 35 years. I'll try my best to get back there and do it again in 2042. :)

Hi Toni,
As you know, this old truck is one of my favourite models :)
I finally got around to trying to duplicate several of my old images from the early 70's. As you can see, the truck hasn't aged a bit in the last 35 years.

I have a few more unposted from the same area. Different cars, same mood.

This is an immediate favorite. The tones are beautiful. I love the rustic setting, and of course am nuts about the car. Love it to bits. Nice to see you again. Antonia

Thanks Biljana,
Yes... Old abandoned objects like this seem to retain the spirits of their owners somehow.

OK 35 years is too much but the vehicle look so sad and abandoned ..... I like your shot:)
The atmosphere looks like my both ...lost and full of water.....
warm regards dear Andre

Thanks Virgis,
Yes, the only difference in this shot and the ones that I took more than 35 years ago of the same truck is that someone put a wooden skid over the driver's side door. Part of the wood is now also covering the light on the left side of the car too. Another interesting thing about these cars and trucks that have been left here for so long is that in some cases trees have grown up beside them and around them making the vehicles look like they are in prison.
Thanks for commenting Virgis!

There are couple of things I like here. First of all, it is place. It truly seems untouched for ages, therefore unique place for taking shots. Second, tonality - very pleasant to view. Amazing work, Andre!

Thanks Alicia,
I agree.. Sepia tones work very nicely on shots like this. There is a sense of history.

La tonalidad sepia, en este tipo de imágenes es acertadísima, una pieza de museo relamente. Felicitaciones!

Thanks Leo,
I am very fond of this series because of the way it is connected to shots that I took in the early 70's.

Thanks for visiting and for the nice comment Peter.
I'm glad you like it. It's always nice to see a new name on the comment list. If you like this one, you might like to visit some of the older images from the early 70's of the same truck.
Thanks again.

This is great. Love the angle, colour, subject. The broken down appearance with the almost perfect headlight that once shone during better days. Very nice mood. Great capture.
