The textures and geometry are excellent. Good eye! There are lots of interesting images in the aftermath of disaster.

Nice b/w work. The angles were impossible to ignore. Good lighting too.

Intersting angle. It's hard to tell which direction the camera is pointing.

There is not much you can do to remove the complexity of the scene, but in this case the complexity is part of the point, so you would not want to anyway. Good composition with what you had, nice framing lines made by the upper deck. Very good exposure, with varying lighting conditions under and above the planks you have done well. The only part it is not perfect is on the right with the shadowed sides being a bit darker than other shadowed areas and the highlighted areas being a touch overexposed. What might have worked is to have used a reflector to shine some light on the right side (and more into the whole scene) and then exposed a bit less. That way the light might have been a bit more balanced. But still I reckon you did a very good job in the circumstances. Focus is superb, nice and sharp edges but without being oversharp, the wood retains it's softer look. Lots of nice patterns in the photo as well, especially on the far side with the criss crossing beams. Who would have thought a photo of this scene couldlook good? But you did it, well done and thanks for your crit of my White Ladder photo. I will try and burn out the top right as you advised, funny how I did not notice it until you pointed it out to me :)
