Robin:

I relate . . . I have had the same thing happen to me on occasion. Particularly with the breeze. I've also shot a series before where the first shot was the keeper but I just kept shooting and shooting and shooting . . . new angles . . . new exposure settings . . . shutter speed and aperture adjustments . . . and then, lo and behold the first shot was the best. (Well, once I forgot to reset the e.v. changes I had made and shot a completely worthless series, but the first worthless shot WAS the best of the worthless).

Misguided? Me? More like misquoted. The three year old painted the cat and was compared to critiques not to you . . . the crayons were mine and compared to the color (didn't involve a three year old). So . . . uhhhhh . . . it's working . . . you're forgetting but, bit by bit!
Sheeeesh . . . women DO have long memories . . . and here I apologized on bended knees (well I can embellish a tad)

Looking at the revision . . . what is your thought on it?? It IS more or less what I was thinking . . . do you think the darkness improves it by adding the mystery element? My thought on it was that the encroaching darkness would further pull young master Collin's face back from the light and more actively isolate - and thus, accentuate those remarkable eyes with the magical catch-lights in them.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Oh . . . about the PS .... Yes, I'm aware you're giving me a hard time. VEWY VEWY subtle . . . like a hammer! LoL!

Hey Doyle,

You know, earlier that day I must have taken 50-75 shots of a very well-behaved bunch of flowers...none of which met my approval. Later on...goofing around, six shots (yes, six) of Collin with the toy...whaddaya know?, a keeper...go figure!

Offering up a revision per your suggestion...yes, occasionally I do consider your opinion regardless of how misguided you may be from time to time. ;)

Thanks for the comment and NOT comparing me to a three year old with a crayon...oh jeez, did I "say" that out loud?...wonder where that came from, I thought I had forgotten all about that.

Take care...Robin

ps...you KNOW I am just giving you a hard time, right?

A fun looking experiment with the photographer's RGB holding a luxigraphic place of honor in the children's toy world . . .

I'd know those eyes anywhere . . . likely the most famous eyes on UF..... and the sparkle in them and the ghostly, reflective looking face sitting ever so innocently in the BG makes for a really creative and intriguing shot.

You know . . . it looks almost like something you'd see by way of a movie poster announcing some theatrical 'must see' movie . . . or maybe the reflection of a child looking out the window of a car traveling in the night . . .

When an image seems to be able to convey so many different thoughts . . . it's usually abstract . . . and this has some abstract qualities to it. I think I might even consider darkening the midtones and the image a tad to add mystery and enhance the abstractness without affecting the eyes . . . Just a thought.

Bottom line . . . the eyes make the shot. :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

A lovely day spent with family and good food Onie, what more can you ask for? :)

Quite surprised this turned out as well as it did...not perfect mind you, but still pleasing to me. And the squiggle in his eye, yep...got me right away!

Warm hugs for you and Grumps...Robin

Luxagraphitis can start so innocently. Before you know it, it spreads and your entire portfolio is filled with luxagraphic photography. Doom doom doom. Get out where there is still time.

~~GRIN~~ Robin... Hope you had a lovely Easter also...:))) I'm just trying to do *catch-ups* now family have all gone...:)

Love this experiment, the light squiggle in Collin's eyes is wonderful... The glow on his face and ear, and the very visible twirl/spiral, moving top to bottom as it spins it's magic *arms* like a neon carousel... :)))

Excellent Robin, I love this...:)))

Huge HUGS every day...:)

Onie...
