We see things very similarly, you and I, Annemette! As I was working on this image just now the very same thought struck me about the 'gravestones'! I'm so pleased you recognised it too... but I'm not surprised you did. I had a chat with the old man with the cane afterwards and he spent 5 minutes moaning about the litter and people dumping three piece suites in the lane outside his house... as much as I agreed with him, I did get a bit of an earfull!

Oh, this is one of those photos of yours that has to be seen close up to make sense! The old man with the cane facing all this mess that represents a culture of plastic, consumers and people who don´t care about littering. The two objects represent gravestones to me and the death of an old world where people acted more respectful and civilized.
