About Philip and Natalie emulating Umlauf's reaction to Nazi invasion of Poland. Very expressive emotional piece typical of Umlauf's work in the 1940's. Large hands denote strength. Controversy generated in Chicago by this piece alerted The University of Texas at Austin's new art department to Umlauf's work. He was invited to teach there in 1941. Cast in bronze in 1972. Photographed in the collection of the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio.

Stunning and well done. Very clever, Paul.

LOL!
He is my boss, Armando, and my wife needed publicity photos for the museum, and enlists my boss and his whole family - then he and I begin playing around in the courtyard...and the rest is what you see. :)

His daughter, Nattie, is is just extract of adorable!
