The atmosphere is so pleasant! A beautiful place to have a picnic. I agree the kayak and the man makes it more interesting. A very beautiful shot!

Michele -- Great colors and contrasts of textures in this image. As presented here, it's a wonderful capture of a wonderful memory. With just a little cropping (Jason's comment & representment w/crop), it becomes a powerful story telling image. Good work!

I was on a holiday to Maui and all of the island images are pretty much straight from the camera... no enhancement as it is sooooo beautiful over there.. lush, bright , clear ...

I have to agree with you... I am pretty sure I was focusing on the sky, clouds, and the very different tree on the left..the man just happened to be there-- ha !! and is also my friend !!
I also agree that the image is too busy ..

PS I had sooo much fun on vacation and took at least 100 images a day Jason--- it was helpful in many ways, and other ways --because I couldn't really view them until I got home( only inside the small camera) it was not a good way to learn..-- Just a way to save memories !

Hello Michele:

Nice photograph, I think you've captured something of what you were after here. For me though, I find the tree on the left seems to grab the most attention, and not the island dreamer. If it were a picture of that tree I would agree with Hind's comments about composition. To place the emphasis on the man, I would suggest a closer crop, using the tree as a frame (also an idea from Hind's comment.) See attached.

Trying to be honest, not negative. This is a good photo as is!
