yes you can do ir with your xti. i have one and i used it with long exposures and it worked. i longed to have one that was converted, so i ripped it apart and converted it myself. but yeah, you can use the hell out of it. email me if you have other questions iluvcheez23@aol.com

Ok, I'm a bit confused. The guys at Wolf Camera told me that my XTI can't do IR unless I have them take the "anti-IR filter" that's inside of the camera out. Which would make my camera an IR camera only. Or am I able to just put the Hoya r72 on it as it is, and it will work? Thanks a bunch for your help!

Yep thats at the fruitville library. thanks for your comments you can do ir with your 350 xti. you will need at tripod and an infrared filter. I use a hoya r72. the exposures wil be 10-30 seconds, but if you really like ir it is worth it. I use the sony cameras because they have a night shot mode enabling you to shoot infrared. i also have a dedicated infrared camera that i converted myself. i dont like them as much tho. ask me anything if you need help. priscilla

Is that at Fruitville Library? It's great to find someone from the same town on here. I am in love with IR photos, but don't really know how to do them well. Your IR shots look amazing, and any pointers would be great!
