Yes, they do look like bones somehow. I think it was the very big difference in light strength between them and the background that turned it this way. So I had much luck to be there just at the time when there was still snow on the branches but nowhere else in the scene. It was the snow, I guess, that made the brnaches look as if they were glowing in front of the much darker background.

They are amazing trees Nick!
The way you caught this one in the light almost makes the branches look like some kind of strange bones.
