About In my garden is born the first new flower of the 2007 year, It's the hellebore (bear's foot?), a green flower of course. Soon will begin the yellow flowers.

Captured yesterday against the sunset backlit. All lights and colours are natural.

A very elegant flower, a striking background, wonderful light and some awesome pink tones.
Beautiful work, Giuseppe!
Thanks for your comment. Actually, I callled it "Springtime" as it means the beginning of this period when this flower starts growing.
Ciao,
Mireille

The lighter one is equally beautiful. I've tried to work on the original, but the light just comes from thr wrong angle to truly illuminate that exquisite center. Obviously your vision has touched many the way you intended and thus you have succeeded. What I mentioned would not necessarily be any better, just a different point of view. Thanks for your interest and enjoy the flowers as they appear. The attachment is not really any better than your original, but thought you might like to see it anyway, just for fun.

Grandissimo Elleboro!
A presto!
Ale

Greg, you are so right! More light yes or not: it's always my dilemma. The fact is that my taste prefers emotive images with atmosphere and shades. But I must keep my mind thast in a typical floral macro as this one it is not a matter of atmosphere but of clear and neat view of the beauties of the flower.
In the attachement there is a lighter version. What do you think about?
Thanks Greg.

Hi Giuseppe
Congratulations on critique of the day and for having some pis posted on the opening page! Our first crocuses have made it up-will post some soon. What a lovely flower this is - one we don't have here. Personally I would have put a little more light on the center to bring out the intricacy hidden there in, but that's just me.
Auguri,
Greg

Giuseppe, nicely defined shape with the deep dark background here. Lucky you having flowers blooming in mid of February, we have to wait 2 more months at least or even more, so I feel like going south for a short vacations. Ciao, NJ
