Ok . . .

First . . . you can't go wrong shooting young master Collin . . . he's photogenic to say the least and I'd recognize him in the blurry BG of almost any DOF! The toning is (IMGO) very nicely done both in range and as a good way to use the lighting you have to get maximum impact from this image.

As to composition . . . it's just too cool to get that pen right into the diagonal at the top left corner. I'd think you told him to freeze to get this shot but that look on his face HAS to be real . . . it's just a perfect capture of a child at work . . . thinking of the work at hand and not the loon with the perpetual camera obscuring a portion of her face! One good thing about always having the camera around is that people become almost immune to it and you seem to get better, more natural captures. In my case . . . I get a granddaughter saying "Don't you EVER put that down?" LoL!

I like it.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks Jan...very kind of you. Built-in models, or as I refer to them, moving targets...rarely are they still enough to photograph!

IMO, can't go wrong with a Tamron. High quality, high price, but worth every cent! Are you shopping again?

Take care...Robin

Robin -- Clever shot and superb way to handle the selective and shallow focus. Perfect title and I note that the "color" pen is BLACK! :) :)
Great shot of Collin; you have built-in models. No fair!
--Best to you, Jan
PS: I am constantly impressed by photos posted elsewhere as well as this one by the quality of Tamron lenses. Very impressive.

The intensity of Collins concentration is wonderful...:) I remember that look well when they try hard to colour just so... No going outside the lines... satisfaction...:))

The detail of the pen, DoF, composition and subject, plus B&W is excellent Robin...:)

The title is brilliant, a wonderful wordplay in itself... :)

Huge HUGS every day Sweet Lady...:)

Great image and title Robin. Really like the angle and clarity of the pen next to the soft curve of his cheek.
