LOL...you funny mister! The Tiger is G-g-g-great (couldn't resist the cereal reference)...still waiting and doing well. Consider the hug delivered. :)
Glad you like D...I told you I had a couple on the burner. At five minutes here and there, it took forever to "get it ready" for posting.
You're right about the ISO...normally 100 but this time it just didn't cut it. About that "flare"...got by me, didn't see it until after I posted and then only at a different viewing angle. Woe is me...ok, not really. Thanks for dropping in amigo, always appreciated!
Take care...R
ps...wtf is going on around here, ultra boring...unless you are a card carrying member of HNKMDC. 'Splain later when you dish the skinny on GYC. (aaaaah, so cryptic!) ;)

Incidentally . . . EXCELLENT framing. Ummmm . . . In my 'Humble' opinion. You know . . . humility is my LAST remaining fault! :P

Hmmmm . . . Robin, Robin . . . . the name is familiar. (*Thinking*) AHA! ROBIN!! How's the Tiger??
I like this one. Wonderful color. Looks like a light spot (similar to a solar flare) on the lower left berry area. Not too distracting and the shot is still a keeper (but you knew THAT)! The texture looks great and very delicate . . . and the composition is very cool . . . and a tad different. I thought you regularly shoot ISO at 100? The 200 makes me think it was natural light and needed . . . but still not too high as to cause issues with grain.
Glad to see ya' shooting again. On an unrelated note . . . after I feared the worst . . . GENE came home (I sent him out in January -- and Stan said he didn't receive him when I asked a month later). Apparently, at some point, he WAS received . . . and returned to me this evening. His longest trip on record! ( http://www.usefilm.com/image/1419687.html ) --I'll talk more about this privately.
Give the Tiger a hug from the King of Cool! :)
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

Actually, Robin, I think I was getting a little confused there. If the Tamron is like the Sigma, there is no specific "macro mode" - for some reason I was thinking of my Sigma 70 - 300 where there is indeed a macro switch. Whereas on the 105 the similar switch does very little except limit the focus range. And I don't use the on-camera macro mode either. But I guess I was not totally confused - strictly speaking, the lens will only be in true "macro mode" if you are getting at least a 1:1 magnification, and then the DOF will certainly be limited!
Canon AV mode - aperture priority? If so, yes, that's what I use...

Yes, Tamron 90mm 2.8 Macro (very similar to your Sigma), by far my favorite lens...well, that and my Lensbaby (talk about blur!) Shallow dof...I love it.
When you say macro mode, are you talking about the setting on your camera or the focus limit switch on the lens? I don't use either...I usually shoot in AV mode, f/2.8-5.0, manual focus. I have tried using both the limit switch and the macro mode but I have never been happy with the results....maybe it's just me?!
Thanks for looking AJ...always good to receive feedback from someone who appreciates honesty. :)
Take care...Robin

Tamron 90? I assume this is very similar to the Sigma 105. Did you use it in macro mode? If so, you'll know all about the DOF (or lack of it!) I think there is great potential from these types of lenses, and your subject here is much better suited than my first attempt! The abstract nature lends itself to the shallow DOF. It looks excellent to me...
