Thanks Eb for viewing and for your comments. Good point about the cropping. I really would have liked to include her tail in the shot but where she was sitting there was a railing between her tail and me. You can just see it bottom right slightly out of focus.

Wow, superb capture and definition, great DOF! The feather colors are so nice, especially the soft pink - as for the male... they're an elusive bird, never stopping for too long in one place. I guess the bright red makes them too visible and more vulnerable? Anyway, the female is just as beautiful :) Great shot, Joe - Ina

Hi Doyle, thanks for the comments, I agree it would have been much better to include the tail, unfortunately there is railing in front of the tail in the uncropped image. You can just see the top of it at the bottom of the image. Thanks again for your suggestions.

Joe this is a wonderful . . . sharply focused shot. The lower crop cuts the tail which hinders the perfection I think it could otherwise attain but Wow . . . beautiful!

Hi Art, how are things?
Thanks for the comments. I've been trying to capture a male cardinal but he is very elusive. I hear his call and see him off in the distance but when I try to get within range he flies off. He doesn't seem to be interested in our bird feeders.
