Finn, couple of nice shots in your portfolio, but felt I might be able to add some value to this one, as it was this one that *least* grabbed my attention of the three that I saw. Compositionally, it's hard to say that there is anything wrong with this - you've got a nice strong diagonal, a tree on a third and a dynamic perspective. For me though, those elements are adding up to make a strong photo - the roams around the frame, but there is little to grab ones attention or provide any lasting interest? It lacks a little impact because of it I feel. I'm not sure the diffuse filter has really added anything to improve the image further - my impression is that it has made it a little too soft, and that further exacerbates the problem with no real main subject. I think perhaps isolating a portion of the scene more, to study on texture and colour, or perhaps dramatizing the tree against the sky may have helped. I'm not sure though - I think it is possibly just the scene isn't quite strong enough. What's your feelings on this one? Simon
