This is a photo I took on 12th April 2003 of an electricity pylon in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It was just after sunset, and I thought the a silhouette of the pylon with the moon in the night sky would make an interesting picture.
Hi Matej, I did crop this image quite a bit, but I guess I just messed up a little in cutting through the 'black things.' It's amazing how much more I am noticing small things like this in my own photos when they are are pointed out to me, thanks for your comments.
The colour of the sky is very soothing, the silhouette works well, and the moon is a nice addition. I like how the lines on the left exit the image through different edges of the pic.
I think it would improve the composition if the pylon was more off-centre.
There are those small black things (whatever they are) on the lines as they approach the pylon. Now if you notice the lines at the very bottom on the left, you will see that the image is cropped straight across those black things. I think this should be avoided, e.g. by having the entire pylon higher up in the image.
