About Again very soft focus to get the yellows like golden, but something is bothering me here. Any suggestions?

I like the one with the black frame much more because the contrast ist enhanced between the lights of the photo and the dark frame.

OK, different priorities, I guess.

Hey this one is much better! This removement makes the original photo much more appealing in combination with the beige "frame"

Oops, I forgot too! Let's take the balck frame away. What do you think? I find it not very nice especially on the white background of the page...

Black frame taken away after Annemette's idea

Nick Karagiaouroglou Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127263} 1/18/2007
I think that the plant on "higher ground" would lose much of its singular appearance if shot from a higher point, but who knows. It has been the wish to capture it like a crown (as the title suggests).

And what a difference a frame makes! It isolates the object of observation, the photography in this case, from the rest of the world, enhancing thus its own lookings. Of course, if you don't like some photo even the best frame can't make it looking better to you, but it can really support it if you like it already.

Best wishes,

Nick

Oh and I forgot again and again(my poor head) to tell you that I would make the black frame less significant. It somehow steals the picture. I´m only starting to use frames, and I can see that a frame makes a big difference both positively and negatively speaking.
Anyway merely a suggestion.
Take care

You´re welcome, Nick. Maybe taking it from a closer angle facing more straight upwards would help?

Cropped after Annemette's idea

Nick Karagiaouroglou Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127263} 1/17/2007
Well, crop, you say? Let's see!

It's very different when cropped after your idea, and though it is no more what I intented to do, I find it better.

Thanks a lot for the idea, Annemette!

Cheers,

Nick

I would have cropped out the left half of the image and maybe a bit of the bottom or have taken it from another angle to start with.
Best wishes
Annemette
