About It is amazing how far someone ( or some group) will go for a buck to be made. This sign has stood for decades in my town. It was slated to be taken down and given to the rightful owner. In the area, where this sign stood, was due to be demolished and a new SUPER CVS PHARMACY to be built. However, just days before the sign was to be taken down , thieves went there and stole the sign late at night. And this is in a a fairly busy part of town. Meanwhile, sign was never found and work on the new SUPER CVS is well under way since this photo was taken in August 2006

Ol Pure Oil sign and ol good Chuck photography again, which shows that some things are there to stay - like for example a real good exposure on film.

Perfect perspective that puts the sign in the middle of interest but without turning the rest to some unimportant thing. Great work, Chuck, just keep it up!

Maybe the ghost of Walker Evans passed by ... I hear that he used to "liberate" signs all the time!

I've been interested in signs as photographic subjects for ages. This is a great sign! I'm also interested in is how photographs can make links between words that one wouldn't normally notice... in this case 'pure karate'.
