Great shot ... and congrats on being donor of the day. I know you have this in the critique corner, but there is little to be said in the way of criticism ... its extremely well seen, well composed, and very effective use of the selective coloration. Applying the technique here acts to quiet down an otherwise frenetic scene, in a way that causes one to look more closely and appreciate all that's in the image.

Very well taken with lots of impact - I like the selective desaturation, placing all the focus on two subjects asoociated with yellow; taxi's and Kodak. Well seen and taken Anna. Regards

leaving only the two tones was a very good choice... ny is usually colorful, and a black-and-white approach wasn't necessary. your solution is interesting. good shot, good idea. :)

hi jan and thank you for your wonderful comment. you are not romantic when it comes to new york? maybe it is because you are a guy? my husband feels the same way.

new york is so great. i hope i can go there many times during our stay in the us. next time e go in may. i am already ecxited about it. and sometimes spend hours to think about what shot i haven´t done yet.

hello aj and thank you for the nice comment. i appreciate it. i thought the same like you. why haven´t i a kodak camera?

yeah, it was a shot through glass. i didn´t found any other possibility to take a shot higher than te ground level...

i am really excited about my first award and it is on the frintpage too, wow. thank you.

Nice use of selective color . . . I've seen this theme played various times, particularly for the yellow cabs in NYC . . . but you've left a very few other colors here too - red on pedestrians and orange on digital, for example. The work is excellent . . . and the reason this theme is done from time to time is because it is so effective . . . and it's certainly effective here . . . the way you've done it! This was done with serious attention to detail and a professional quality result is the product of your efforts. Impressive, top-notch work and congrats on your award!

Season's Best Wishes,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Great shot, Anna. At this time of the year I would much rather see this through your eyes and lens than be there myself (obviously I am not a romantic when it comes to New York City). There is so much detail to take in. This is top notch. I feel like a voyeur.
--Best to you, Jan

Congrats on getting a fine pic on the front page!

A wonderful scene with an effective treatment. Pity you weren't using a Kodak camera!

Was this shot through glass? There appear to be a couple of reflections, although they don't detract from the overall effect.
