Very pleasant floral, Ray! A delight to see the flowers in all stages. What I like here most of all is the angle you chose, letting us see the flowers as they are about to be born and then how they evolve. Also the light is beautiful.

Thank-you for your honest appraisal Mohammad and I am sorry that you do not like this one. I love it personally as it shows four stages of this plant's life; the new bud, top right; the emerging flower, bottom left; the flower almost totally exposed, top left and of course the flower in full bloom. This particular flower always points towards the ground and is difficult to shoot but I loved the shot for the dark details and those details illuminated by the dappled sunlight.....heyho my friend we cannot please all the people all of the time.....All the best my dear friend.

Hi Ray,
One thing that I forgot to mention is that darker images like this one sometimes remind me of the look of those old oil paintings that have darkened through the centurys. I used to assume that those paintings were actually created that way, but I was recently told that the darkness and charm comes with years and years of patina.

Many thanks Andre.....No, I'm not consciously moving into a dark area my friend but I do possess quite a few florals in this vein and will post more eventually. I love the dark background colours coming through myself but so many of my florals are extreme closeups or blooms only that I may have missed several great opportunities for the 'bigger picture'. Eather and you have red and white, in my garden they are yellow and orange. My wife don't like
these flowers because they have always the head bowed but they are fully in bloom from april till november!

Dearest Ray!
On our way back!!!! Love this shot and (of course) I find myself inexcusably behind in comments . . . . not to mention postings. Still . . . I'm starting and working my way back. With 5 kids and 6 grandkids . . . a visit from a child whom we haven't heard from in many years and whom (as it happens) is in some legal difficulties . . . requires significant attention. I think we're almost ready to return (fanfare please) . . . ! And today's Marny's B-day . . . so this comes from work!!!! :)
