Bob, the only primes I use are my two macro lenses and a 50mm, f/1.4. I had given some thought to acquiring the 35mm as a standard lens for digital use and then got heavy into the pro zooms. The Nikkor pro line zooms are often as good or better than the primes at certain focal lengths. For example, in my opinion, the 12-24mm f/4, at 24mm, will beat the prime equivalents. Of course, this is a DX lens and not good for you! This has become a wake up for me because I used to reject zooms as inferior.

Hi Eb,
No doubt, I've been away myself for some time. I honestly have trouble finding the time to visit the various photo sites I am part of. I'm trying to drop in more frequently on UF and hopefully can maintain some form of consistency, but life being what it is, I can never be too sure.
Hope you enjoy your new D200 and all the excellent glass you've acquired. I've been contemplating the Nikkor 35mm f2. Do you have any prior experience with it?

Good to hear from you again, Bob! I have been away and find it is a surprise to see your recent postings. I do enjoy my D200 and do not ask for more in a camera - 'though I have acquired quite a few lenses.

Nice capture. I spent some time trying to find a "face" in the fissures. Subtle colors and sharp details.

It is a vision of the nature’s finger. It is a marvellous and miraculous piece of an art indeed. Astonishing colours I see in harmony. It is like many parts of sculptures are placed together over there!
