Thankyou, Tapas, I am truly blessed. My husband gave me my camera when I reached the half century in age. I love it, it translates what I want to say about people very accurately onto "film".
I am trying very hard to do the same with what I see in my environment, but I now realise it takes more than a nice camera to take good landscape shots! But I love practicing. CC

My dear Rashed, I too am a newcomer to UF and am totally in awe of the talent I find on this site. The standard of photography makes me feel naive and inexperienced.
I see your work and I admire your ability to compose such strong images with such beautiful colours. You have a natural talent that desrves to be on the first page.

I am really very happy for you, very, very happy for you, sad of course for my self.
I am just learning photography, and walking through the first steps, while many more on UF do deserve their images to be on the first page for all of the contributions they do here and for their very high technical Capabilities and understanding of Photographic Different fields.
Having said that, the moment I have seen your image on the first page I did feel so happy because you have such a wonderful talent and skill which I do respect a lot.
Please my great friend, do not be unhappy with me as I like your work so much and this is the maximum I can express myself with my poor English and luck of photographic educations.

Hi again Cathy, I don't think there's any hard and fast rules for border styles as such, but something to keep in mind if you like doing them is - subtlety. Ideally, I guess what you should strive for is an elegant periphery. Make sense? You want the viewer to be impressed by the presentation, but you want their gaze to remain on your image. Try experimenting with single colour mattes and simple 1px borders around the image. That's really all I do! :)
Oh, and if you can, hunt down any books by Scott Kelby. His latest one (I think) is on PSCS2, but any of his earlier books would still be relevant to you not matter which version of PS you have. Scott Kelby is the God of Photoshop tips & tricks. You must seek the God!

Nice play with light and shadow there Cathy. Superb DoF too. I'm not completely sold on the borders, I feel it's competing a little for attention. But nonetheless, a clever and stunning capture. Nice job! I'll add you to my associates list so I can check out your work more often.
