Thanks Mary, he had done many before this one, this one wouldn't become his favorite he told me. Sometimes, he said, don't you have a connection with the painting you're doing, and this was such a painting. He had photographs of former paintings he made, and there werea lot of good ones there.
You can practice, thats what he told me, after his retirement he started to paint and became better and better, and now...sometimes people bring him a photo and ask him to make a painting of it.

Thanks for explaining Doyle, and BTW is in Holland a form of Tax on al things we buy.
When we buy a car, the government wants to have 19% BTW = Belasting (Tax) Toegevoegde (Added) Waarde (Value).

I didn't stop painting . . . just haven't had time lately. Finished a few last year or the year before . . . Land and seascapes......fantasy lanscape . . . rivers, trees, etc.... No portraits.

What a coinsidence, he paint for some people when they order a painting, and just his hobby, but then they have to pay for it. He does portraits too. What did you paint, and what moved you to stop painting?
By the way, it was a very nice person, and his wife too, we could manage alright together. This evening I had to call him, because they like to see us again and talk a little about a great holliday. Don't you think that's nice.

Great POV Klaas . . . I guess to balance the Universe you should know I was a painter for many many years before picking up a camera seriously . . . I still paint (in oil) on ocassion.
