Great eye for a great image, with a wonderful sense of place, structure, and humanity, all combined for a terrific feel. The focus does appear a bit soft, and I am wondering if you are sharpening in an editing program (like Photoshop), after you reduce the size for the web. If not, you should be, as you will always lose clarity upon reducing the size and converting to JPG. The only other thing I might do would be to gently darken down the very rear bank of trees some (with a burn tool) to create a greater sense of depth, and a bit more attention to the monks and the palms with their rich colors... Outstanding photo, Darrin... And it looks like all of your work is dear to my heart, having travelled the world myself, several years ago...

You did great and waited for the right moment for this one. Without the monks this would be a moderately interesting image, but with them its got some life to it. The exposure is great with really good detail throughout. Any word on that exhibition you were contemplating in the late spring?
