Thanks Laura, this is an African Lily called Lily of the Nile. It has large, very beautiful flowers (and many of them) when it blooms. It is very easy to grow and would probably do well in Texas. The scientific name is Agapanthus caulescens. Already it looks VERY different and will likely be fully bloomed by Monday. Perhaps I'll post another picture then!
