Lovely shot from top to toe Ian. The clouds are amazing, the hills in the backdrop and the colour and pattern in the sand are nice also. Thomas.

Hi Roger thanks for your kind comments, not to may days like this and they usually occur in May and in late September, early October. I find July and August are usually a washout, wet and miserable, not to mention the presence of the mad McMidge.

Gorgeous. I'm not normally a lover of Velvia but this is the kind of scene it was made for! This is one corner of Scotland I am not familiar with. I wonder how many days like this there may be in a year? I'm putting this photo in my favourites!

Hi Joe, very fair comment it does actually match the original tranny but the tranny was velvia and the polariser enhanced the colours still further. Your crop suggestion is spot on as the blue sky feels like a little bit of dead space on the left.

Thanks everyone the colour sat matches the tranny which was Velvia, of course a polariser further intensifies the colour.

Hi Ian, The high level of saturation adds a lot to the feel of this photo. Looking at it without reading your about, I don't think I would ever have guessed this was the Scottish coast. Too good to be true, and it places the scottish coast in a completely different perspective. Very well done!
Cheers,
Hugo

No comments, yet, for some reason. So I'll just say that I think it's an excellent photo. The sky does appear a bit exaggerated, but perhaps that really was the light, and the saturation. The foreground is very interesting, and you want to examine the photo and get into the scene, even imagine that you are there.
Not that it would be better, but just as an alternative, what would you think of cropping just on top of the lower puffy cloud which is center left?
