I'm sort of mesmerized by the DOF here. It is a great demonstration of how a shallow DOF can really give a feeling of depth. I studied this a bit to figure out why the shallow DOF worked so well here, and my conclusion so far is that the repetitive patterns of the vertical 'petals' in the farthest part of the dandelion help the viewer relate the sharp portions of the dandelion to the blurred portions.

Maybe that is too much analysis for one simple dandelion! No matter, I really like this image.
