Natalie...thanks for clearing up the vignetting and the soft focus problem which I didnt realize were characteristic of a Holga camera.
But all the suggestions I made on composition in the second paragraph still stand regardless what camera a person may choose to use.....*smile*....Maggie

Maggie, thanks for your comments. Have you ever heard of the Holga camera? I think not. There is nothing wrong with the pic, at least technically. My scanner is fine, thank you. check out www.holga.com. Also, look at the toy camera category. There are lots of soft, crooked pics there. --Natalie

Hi Natalie...you have vignetting on the corners of this image...did you use a lens hood that wasnt the proper size for the lens or was this done on purpose? The image also looks to be a bit soft...but thats possibly a scanning problem.

Your idea here is a good one but there are a couple of things I would like to suggest for next time you are out shooting. Take time to make sure your horizons are straight and if you dont have anything interesting in the sky try to eliminate as much of it as possible. In this image the sand has lots of patterns and texture in it...I think if you had gotten closer to your subject then angled your camera down to get more of the sand and less sky you would have gotten a stonger image. Hope these suggestions help.....keep posting...Maggie *smile*
