About 3rd, and last for now...

Have had a good reaction from mum and dad, but they're biased :) So, objective opinions needed...

James, you're so right. Can't believe I didn't see it. Thanks for taking the time to play around. It's little tips like these that sometimes make the best lessons. Thanks again :)

p.s. Spent some time on light play last night... actually think I might be getting close now ;D

Cheers!

I like the hand. It comes from nowhere. This is what adults are like for children, I guess. Big hands coming in from above. Guiding. You could probably lose the adult torso on the right ok.

Another possible crop.

James Cook James Cook   {K:38068} 6/5/2006
This is a nice crop of the image, Gayle. What you sacrifice, though, is the child as participant. In this crop you have the child as observer only. That's a lot to sacrifice.

What a beautiful capture, Rina. The curiosity of a young child in all its perfect innocence.
Well done!!

Gayle, that's an excellent tight crop! Never occured to me to tilt either. Gotta hand it to ya, definitely gives it a new appeal... thanks for taking the time to do that for me :) I count myself very lucky to be getting such valuable critique lately. Feel free to play around with anything here!!

Just snuck back in to upload a few shots from today's romp on the beach. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you earlier. Will most likely be out and about all Easter, so I'll be in touch when things are less hectic. Have a great one and I hope the Easter Bunny is good to you ;) Cheers mate!

What a face. I love the sence of concentration beaming off this angelic little face. I can see that she wants to get in there and help with the chore. Beautiful lighting and detail.

Lovely photo, Rina. Love the concentration and seriousness on her face and Dad's arm helps to frame her pretty little face. Nice tones. Excellent. And don't let that big bad Mr Rina bully you. Tell him to cook his own eggs. You've got more important stuff to do, like show us more photos. Cheers, Ann. P.S. Thanks for your wonderful comment on my Emu.

She has an intense look at what is happening, I think she wants to do it herself too. i like the lighting and the DoF, it really concentrates the focus on the celebrant. I like the arm in the foreground, it makes this shot different from the usual and have a different composition.
nice shot Rina!
regards..

..........just had a look at several hundred shots and this is in the very top group, the little girls expression is priceless..... anticipation mixed with concentration and confidence, the photographs subject is expertly framed and composed, black&white is brilliant, the lights and shadows are well balanced, dof control means the foreground and surrounds are superfluous and do not interfere with the intent of the shot, it is balanced, it obeys the law of thirds.......you pass! just keep doing what you're doing Rina. cheers, david.

Dropping in for the first time since that one with the funny coloured sand (no comment) it was lovely to see some family shots. I love the contrast between BIG DADDY (I assume) and little daughter. What a cutie! She'll love you for this record of her childhood when she grows up. Nice lighting in the hair and lovely skin tones!

A beautiful, beautiful expression captured here as this lovely little girl concentrates on being Daddy's little helper. The details are fantastic and the tonal finish is superb but most of all I love the fantastic backlighting.
A wonderful trio of shots and I'm not surprised at Mum and Dad's reactions; me? My tongue hangeth out for MORE......Well done to you my clever Rina, 'see' you again soon....Big hugs....Rayxxx

Rina,
I love the concentration on the little girl's face in this one. Not so sure about the large hand being so dominant. But I suppose that is a big part of the story in this case. If it was my kid's birthday, I would want my helping hand in the shot too! The way I see it, if you get good reactions from mum and dad, that's really all that matters.
Andre
