Laura: My pkotoshop retouching skills are not the best,I need a lot of work in that regard but this will give you an idea of what I would do.The second soften looks very detract as though floating on air,the original looks much better. This is how I would fix this, others might have a different opinion. Please let me know what you think. Regards Robert

Hi Laura,I see you are willing to accept critiques in order to improve which is good.So here goes,I like this more than the black background version but those white spots which Giuseppe mentioned is distracting to a otherwise beautiful image.Ilike the exposure and blurred background which makes the flower stand out more. I know you will improve your work in the future so looking forward to viewing it. Thanks for your comment,it`s appreciated. Regards Robert

I'd say you are doing quite well without that new Nikor lens you want! This looks great.

Hi Giuseppe,
There seems to be a variety of tastes among the members at Usefilm, which is actually a good thing, in my opinion. If you look at the original submission of this photo, you will see that one of the members thought the background would look good with bokeh (the points of light that you prefer not to see). In either case, I think that a black background would be preferable for this photo. I actually did this shortly after submitting the original. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Ciao, Laura

Ciao Laura. Nice pattern here and good half background enough blurred and with a gree colour that matches with the flower. The second half unfortunatly is spoiled by white spots of highliths that are highly disturbing in a floral picture. It is easy to clone them. This flower is in my garden too; it's very elegant. Ciao.
